Lessons work best with a physical keyboard. The full finger guide appears on tablets and wider.

About this lesson

With these two keys every finger has now visited all three rows. The bottom corners see little use in most writing, which is exactly why they trip people up when they do appear.

Take your time. A lesson passed carefully at a low speed is worth more than one scraped through quickly, and the next lesson builds on this one.

Hand position

  • The bottom corner keys belong to the little fingers.
  • Curl the finger down and slightly outwards.
  • Keep the taps gentle and return to the home key each time.

On a US (QWERTY) keyboard this lesson's keys are Z and /. Lessons follow key positions, so on another layout the same fingers practise the keys that sit in the same places. It takes about 3 minutes: six short lines, passed at 92% accuracy. Speed is not part of the pass mark.
