How the path works
The thirty lessons are grouped into ten levels of three. The first two levels cover the home row, where your fingers rest. Levels three to six add the top and bottom rows a pair of keys at a time, and each of those levels ends with a lesson of real words built only from the keys you have met so far. The last four levels add capitals, punctuation and numbers, then finish with plain fluency practice.
Every lesson is six short lines with no clock. The pass mark is 92% accuracy, and speed is never part of it: a lesson typed slowly and cleanly passes, a fast one full of slips does not. If you miss the mark you keep your best attempt and try again as often as you like.
A finger guide sits under each lesson. It lights up the next key and colours the keyboard by finger, and it also names the key and the finger in text. You can hide it once you no longer need it. Lessons are defined by key position rather than by letter, so they adapt to US and UK QWERTY, AZERTY, QWERTZ, Dvorak and Colemak.
Locked lessons are still open: you can practise ahead, and the lesson unlocks properly once the earlier ones are passed. Your progress is stored in this browser, with no account.
