About this lesson

Phrases bring together everything from the earlier levels: all three letter rows, capitals and punctuation.

The texts come from the same phrase bank as the Daily Challenge, so passing this lesson is good preparation for it. Keep your eyes on the line and let your fingers follow. A comma or a capital should cost you no more time than any other key, and that only comes from typing them in context.

Hand position

  • Read a few words ahead of where you are typing.
  • Let punctuation be part of the flow rather than a stop.
  • Correct mistakes as you notice them, then pick the pace back up.

This lesson is defined by its characters rather than by key position, so it is the same on every keyboard layout. It takes about 5 minutes: six short lines, passed at 92% accuracy. Speed is not part of the pass mark.
